THE HORSES

Meet Our Lesson Horses

Light On The Chocolate (AQHA/APHA)

Nestle is one of those horses that you wish you had a barn full of. This special mare is perfect for all levels from beginner to advanced riders. Nestle has also had a successful show career on the regional breed show level with both amateur and youth exhibitors. Her quiet and willing demeanor introduced a number of our clients to the show pen. We love this girl and are very thankful to Lyn Cole for allowing us to own her.

Nestle is also an asset to our therapeutic program, Hugs for Horses,  where her quiet, calm nature makes her a favorite with  our special needs riders.

Maranatha Josie( APHA)

Josie came from our dear friend Anne Louise Miller of Millaway Ranch.  Josie is a colorful, patient teacher with a huge heart making her a favorite with beginning and therapeutic riders.  Wish we could clone this one.

Jets Easter Bunny (APHA)

Blossom is another horse purchased from our dear friend Anne Louise Miller. Blossom has been leased by several clients who successfully competed with her on the regional breed show level. Always steady, honest and fun to ride at home or hauling  shows. Blossom is also amazing with our special needs riders.

Miss Pizzazzles (APHA)

Ava also came from Anne Louise Miller.  She is a cutie with a sparkling personality. Ava is always pleasant, inquisitive and loves doing her job. We are thrilled to have her in our lesson program.

A HotRoddin Heiress (APHA)

Paris was purchased as a yearling from our dear friend and client Thomasena Strickland. Rona trained and showed her dam for Thomasena. When we were offered Paris we were excited to get her. Having grown up in our program Paris is now one of our go to lesson horses and a treasured part of our therapeutic program. We would clone this one too if we could.

Hot Roddin Sally (APHA)

Sally was purchased as a yearling by one of our clients. Another one of those horses you wish you had a barn full of. This girl has been hauled all over the nation showing with our clients. Sally has been ranked top 5 and/or top 10 in the nation several years in a row on the breed show level. Currently Sally is being leased and shown by Adeline Blair of Pawleys Island. This is such a great team. Watch for these two in the youth division at the APHA shows.

Chipping Alone (AQHA/APHA)

Veronica is another one that has had a successful show career with our program who has now become a great lesson and therapeutic riding horse. She is one of those horses that just makes us smile.

Alotta Hollywood (APHA)

Lottie is a super sweet and brightly colored girl. She is always a fun ride among our intermediate to advanced students.

Sir P Waffles (Belgium)

We were looking for a larger horse for the adult riders in our therapeutic program when we found this HUGE guy at an Amish work horse sale in NC. We fell in love with this big guy as we followed him around most of the day watching and waiting until he entered the sale ring. Despite his size Liam’s fits perfectly in the barn and in our lesson and therapeutic programs.

Lily (Haflinger Pony)

Lily is one of our cute new additions. She is just the right size for our smaller riders. She is a total sweetheart that loves attention. We have fallen in love with this little pony and so thankful that Abby Duncan offered her to us.

Icon (Pony)

Now this is a cool pony. Retired from the hunter jumper circuit due to a tendon injury. This guy can still do the flat work lessons and is great at it! He has quickly won the hearts of a few of our riders. We are enjoying having him in our program. Thank you Liane Maull for giving us the opportunity to add this talented pony to our program.

Gisele (Miniature Horse)

We were looking for a large miniature/small pony for a client to lease for her two small children. When their lease was up and it was time for Gisele to go back we decided to buy her for our program. It isn’t everyday you find a bombproof small pony that is a total doll baby. Gisele is so patient and loves attention.

Timeless Frozen In Time (AMHA)

Rona mentioned possibly getting miniature horse to her business partner Stephanie. Shopper extraordinaire Stephanie ran with the idea and within a few hours the perfect mini was located. One phone call and a 20 hour round trip haul later Elsa had joined the herd. Elsa is our tiny Hugs for Horses mascot, ambassador and therapeutic mini. What this tiny girl lacks in size she more than makes up for in personality. Always the life of the party and the center of attention Elsa is always ready for a new adventure. Whether she is on stage with the band at a local bar, nuzzling Santa’s beard at the pet store or placing her tiny head in the lap of a wheelchair bound student Elsa is always ready to do her job.
